40 Steps of Faith: Walk with God, Grow Your Spirit, Embrace Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection.

Week 1: Preparing Your Heart

  • Day 1: Reflect on the meaning of Lent and set intentions for the next 40 days.
  • Day 2: Read Psalm 51 and spend time in repentance and prayer.
  • Day 3: Fast from a meal or distraction and use the time for prayer.
  • Day 4: Practice gratitude—write down 5 things you’re thankful for.
  • Day 5: Commit an act of kindness, such as helping a neighbor or donating to a cause.
  • Day 6: Meditate on Matthew 6:33 and seek God’s kingdom in all you do.
  • Day 7: Attend a church service or worship at home.

Week 2: Drawing Closer to God

  • Day 8: Read a Bible passage about Jesus’ ministry, like Matthew 4:1–11.
  • Day 9: Fast from social media or unnecessary screen time.
  • Day 10: Journal your thoughts about your spiritual journey so far.
  • Day 11: Pray for someone who needs encouragement or healing.
  • Day 12: Memorize a short Bible verse, like Philippians 4:13.
  • Day 13: Spend time in nature and reflect on God’s creation.
  • Day 14: Write a letter to God, expressing your hopes and struggles.

Week 3: Serving Others

  • Day 15: Volunteer or give to a local charity.
  • Day 16: Fast from negativity—avoid complaining or gossiping.
  • Day 17: Reach out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while and reconnect.
  • Day 18: Pray for people who are suffering or in need around the world.
  • Day 19: Read Matthew 25:35–40 and reflect on serving “the least of these.”
  • Day 20: Offer encouragement to a friend or coworker.
  • Day 21: Attend a Bible study or engage in group prayer.

Week 4: Deepening Spiritual Practices

  • Day 22: Study the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1–12) and reflect on them.
  • Day 23: Journal about ways you can live out your faith more boldly.
  • Day 24: Fast from a luxury or habit and focus on God instead.
  • Day 25: Spend extra time in prayer, asking God for wisdom and guidance.
  • Day 26: Read about Jesus’ parables and their lessons for life.
  • Day 27: Perform an anonymous act of kindness.
  • Day 28: Meditate on the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9–13).

Week 5: Preparing for Easter

  • Day 29: Read about Jesus’ journey to the cross (Luke 22–23).
  • Day 30: Reflect on forgiveness and seek reconciliation if needed.
  • Day 31: Fast and pray for a deeper understanding of Jesus’ sacrifice.
  • Day 32: Share your testimony or faith with someone who might need it.
  • Day 33: Meditate on 1 Corinthians 15:20–22 and the hope of resurrection.
  • Day 34: Pray for the global church and its mission.
  • Day 35: Create a worship playlist and spend time praising God.

Holy Week

  • Day 36 (Palm Sunday): Reflect on Jesus’ triumphal entry (Mark 11:1–11).
  • Day 37: Pray for humility and surrender to God’s will.
  • Day 38: Read about the Last Supper (Luke 22:7–38) and take communion if possible.
  • Day 39 (Good Friday): Spend time in silence, meditating on the crucifixion.
  • Day 40: Reflect on the hope of Easter and prepare your heart to celebrate.
